My local range says my AMD-65 is too loud?! UPDATE!

I posted this on a local NC gun forum, but wanted to get some other thoughts on the matter. FYI, the Wake County Range is an indoor range, cement floor and cinder block walls, with little to no sound barriers of any sort.
===========================
So I went down to the Wake County Range today to do some shooting. My main goal (other than blasting away some ammo) was to test out my newly built AMD-65. I had done headspace testing with a "poor-man's" headspace gauge someone told me about, so I was ready to go.
Not even halfway through the first 20 round mag, the range safety officer is getting in my space and complaining about the noise. ??? According to him, AK's don't need brakes or flash suppressors since they don't have much recoil to worry about, so why did I put that "ridiculous" muzzle brake on my AK? Why don't I take that off while I'm at the range? Well, says I, it's permanently attached so the rifle will be legal length. He then says "I guess you better enjoy shooting it today because I'm going to talk to the manager about banning that ridiculous thing." WTF??!!

Okay, so I shot through 8 30 rounders and 2 20 rounders before moving on to my 10/22 and my XD-9. The important part is that the AMD functioned 100%, so I guess NCShooter26 and I did a good job on the build. It's always nice when the gun doesn't blow up in your face or suffer a catastrophic failure of some sort!

So now what? Anybody have a similar experience? One RSO was trying to convince me to break out the torch to un-solder the brake that's on there and replace it with a different one, or to at least fabricate a sleeve/cover type deal to go over the holes in the brake. I wanted to tell them to go pound sand, but I still want to shoot my guns there... I guess I may have to reconsider if they actually ban my gun, but we'll have to wait and see if that happens.

This is the brake that is on the AMD right now

It's a gun, of course it's loud. Unless they have a posted rule about the noise, I would tell them to pound sand. What do you mean too loud? Tell them next time they start telling you what to do to your rifle, they should build their own. If they do ban it, go somewhere else.

It could not be louder than an AR pistol or a CETME with a break.

My rule at the range is to seek out those shooting these types of guns or some boltgun magnum with a break and then get as far away from them as possible.

I swear...shooting next to an AR pistol...I thought my fillings were coming out of my head!

I guess i am hard core or old school. It would never occur to me to complain about such a thing. Not that i work at a range. But he does have ear/hearing protection on. Its just resonation, not DB's he is feeling. No ones hearing is being harmed so long as they have protection. Whats the harm.

Its like going to a drag race with funny cars, or an indoor monster truck rally and bitching about BD levels.

Grow a pair range master.

Tell them to atleast put up a sign that says no AMD's if they are going to bust ballz. That way no one pays, and gets an ear full from nancy the range master. That or they offer refunds.

Pretty lame range if you ask me.

My range you can shoot anything up to 30-06 or .308 indoor, so long as the rounds dont stick to a magnet, you can shoot anything you want. Anything that is legal, you can shoot. Those are the only rules.
