What the F are they going to do when someone wants to shoot their 50? Sounds like he was a control freak. Some people have no life!

Call from the manager...

Hey all, OP here. Just got off the phone with Fritz, the manager at the Wake County Range. He called me tonight to apologize for his range officer being overzealous and said that there would be no problems bringing the AMD in to shoot anytime. He also offered me a free pass next time I go in... I told him I was a bit surprised that "too loud" was a complaint from the officer, and he agreed. In any case, I am now officially approved, so I guess I've got that going for me.

I'm satisfied.

Actually, in an indoor range, its not uncommon to put restrictions on the noise level. Muffs and plugs will only do so much to cancel out noise but the danger of hearing damage is a real possibility. I don't think the AMD fits that description, but I have been asked to shoot some of my carbines outdoors. M95 Styer, Mosins, a 16" barreled Garand, and a sawed off double barreled 10ga shotty.

I've brought my amd-65 before I sold it to the same range (Holly Springs, right?). Let me know if you want to go shooting sometime...I rent out a farm out in Spring Hope and I'd be happy to bring you on as a guest.

The Wake County range doesn't allow .50cal or steel core bullets.

This RSO must really go nuts when a bolt gun with a brake goes off. My 300WM is really loud and has a fair amout of backwash.
