That range needs to hire a real man instead of a weak sister.

The AMD-63 and -65 are designed to have opposing grips (as joeywhat's link shows).

I had a hard time believing what I was hearing and kinda laughed it off. The manager wasn't there on Sunday, so I'll look for and speak to him next time I go. If they actually ban this gun (I don't think that'll happen) then I'll rethink ever shooting there again. For now, I'll write it off as a bad day, or that one guy is a jerk, but the range is still very convenient and a nice place to shoot.

My Mosin Nagant M44 is definitely louder - and throws a huge fireball as well!

looks to me like they used a standard Ak47 pistol grip which would have to be turned backwards to fit as opposed to AMD65 grips

Huh? That's the way it's designed - to use 2 pistol grips. The front one is turned backwards to facilitate magazine insertion/removal.

standard amd-63/65 grips look like these

Your standard AK47/74 pistol grip like this...

I see you were the op, you can use a standard ak grip turned that way in place of the standard amd 63/65 grips. And I think it is just your range officer being a @#$%$ about your amd being too loud. Post full pic of the amd please, looks like a sweet build

Get yourself a Krink and take in there next time

Either that or a Carbon-15...those things are super loud.
