AK47 Adjustable Gas Blocks
My Saiga 7.62x51 may be slightly over ported. Does anyone make and market an adjustable gas regulator for an AK47 type rifle? Already considering a buffer and possibly a heavier op spring. Thanks in advance. HB of CJ (old coot)

There is one adjustable gas block available, but it's uglier than sin (even by AK standards) and attaches to the barrel with set screws rather than pinning on. General consensus is that it's not worth the $100 price tag. It's made by DEZ Arms.

First off, go with nalioth...get a new spring.
You can drill/enlarge tube holes in the gas tube or open up the ones at the gas tube/gas block connection. I've shot a few of the 308s and they definitely can use the +10% increase in spring power. Remember, the gas system is just to unlock the bolt, recoil does the rest. I have sanded down the diameter of the gas piston head to reduce gas pressures before, but only as a last resort.

Thanks Everyone
Thank you. Yep, that is one ugly gas regulator, even if it's adjustable! Right now I'm trying to decide what to do. First plan is nothing. Second plan is to open up the exhaust port holes a little. A heavier Wolff op spring is also in the works. I also knew a 16" 308 would be noisy! Now I also know the flying brass is a personnal hazzard! He he he. HB of CJ (old coot)
