Where can I find affordable steel 7.62x39 AK magazines?

We've all seen the tapco bashing threads...the promag threads...the waffle mag threads...

but what most of us really want is just some basic steel 30 round magazines that work reliably, right?

Does anyone know where we can find some without breaking the bank?

Here are a few places that look promising to me:

1. AK47 30 ROUND MAGAZINE AK-47 NEW PRODUCTION the description is messed up and says 40 rnd and it says they are new production korean... I actually have 2 of these magazines and at $15 each they seem to be very very good. They are ribbed and have fed perfectly so far. I need more usage before I can recommend these yet tho. $15

2. I.O.INC: AK-47 Magazine, 30rd Steel Romanian made
AK 30rd steel magazines in good to very good condition. These are surplus magazines. Condition may vary. We guaratee functionality. $8

3. http://www.centerfiresystems.com/MAGAKA-KR30.aspxThis looks to be the same as #1 since it is new korean manufacture. $10

4. AK-47 30rd Blue Steel Mag Part #MAGAKA02 Fits Pre-Ban. Ribbed Blue Steel. European Mfg. $17

5. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/60748 CIA AK47 30 Round Bulgarian Steel Mag. $18

Any other ideas? Where do you guys get yours? Are they any good? Find anywhere cheaper?

AIM surplus...just snagged some from them for $9.95, shipping is very resonable with them and they get stuff to you quick.

I have bought from several places on your list plus AIM. Go for the best mag at the cheapest price. I bought some cheap Romeys. They were scratched up and gummed with grease, but they cleaned up fine and with a paint job look and run like new. It is hard to go wrong with steel combloc mags unless they are dented. Not sure about the Korean stuff and stay away from the poly mags, especially US, except the Bulgarian Waffle mags, which are pricey. If you want to be safe get some in VG to Excellent condition plus some cheaper ones that need cleaning and work. It is doubtful you will find them cheaper than now - maybe a buck or so but they WILL eventually go higher. especially when BHO arranges for import to stop. Buy while you can!!!!

I stick with steel commbloc and bulgy cricle 10 or polish poly mags. AIM surplus, classic arms, centerfire systems are good online resources. AIM will often to 1 cent shipping sales so keep an eye on their site.

I've picked up a mag or two at each gun show for 10 bucks or less for brand new mags, over time I've built up large supply of usable mags.

A buddy of mine bought a couple of tapco's. None of them were 100% reliable in his Rommy.

As bad as I hate to say it, I've seen better performance out of promags. I'd still get steel surplus if you could though.

All of the mags I listed are steel...I will keep an eye out for a cheap or free shipping sale since that seems to be the killer on most of these sites.

Copes Distributing is also a great supplier - very fast delivery and good shipping prices. To me, in Florida = $7.95 flat rate shipping

These Chinese 30 rounders look almost new and have had very good reports @ $12.99 each Cope's Distributing

Virtually new Egyption Maddi mags, same price Cope's Distributing

Hungarian 20 rounders - I bought a couple of these myself and they were as new Cope's Distributing

Korean 30 rounders $10.99 Cope's Distributing

All of these will be better than Tapco or Promag.

Just paint your steel mag! It won't be hard There aren't any cheap quality polymer mags. If you really want a crapco just for looks than go for it (they do look kinda cool lol). ~Norinco
