Yep. Right there for when you get a KABOOM and lose some fingers, too.

I'll stick with my VFG, tyvm.

I agree. I like the blk. polymer K-Var furniture on my SAR-1, along with the 74 brake.
That's as "tactical" as I'll get, with my AK.

I have a mostly stock saiga 12, except for the polychoke and big mags. If I ever convert it, I will put a collapsible stock on it because I'm tall. I shot my boss's AK, and it kept hitting me in the ear muffs. The factory saiga stock fits a lot better for me.

My Saigas Had To Be Extensively Modified

Changed out the stocks, forends, piston and puck, trigger groups, added pistol grips, scope mounts and Eotecks. Since the Saiga is Russian made, I had to teach them both to speak American accented English to comply with the silly 922(r) stuff.

Actually, concerning wood furniture, if someone made really nice USA walnut replacement stocks, pistol grips and forends, I would be really interested. Something about fine walnut. Garands and FN FALS come to mind. HB of CJ (old coot)

Too much rail is silly. I think a quad rail is too much. A single rail is all you need for a red-dot and a light. I laugh at those dudes with huge globs of heavy rail on their already heavy rifle.

Agree on all counts!

Why do you need to laugh at someone that has a different preference than you? My quad rail is aircraft aluminum and really doesn't add much more weight than the factory handguard that was on my rifle. A Korean War Veteran who is a friend of mine held my rifle over the weekend and was raving about how much lighter AK's are these days. I guess it's all relative.

I like side folder stocks and ultimak gas tube rails. Throw an aimpoint on the ultimak and you're ready to rock and roll. Don't have an AK right now...but when I do it'll be set up like that.

Don't see the need for anything else. Should be able to mount a light to the ultimak as well...otherwise nothing else is needed on the rifle.

I love mine, I keep wanting to add more to the collection in different setups, I've been meaning to buy an AR because overall I like their ergo/configurability better, but AK's are just so damn cheap, ammo's cheaper too
