just picked 1 of these up monday and all i can say is AWSOME!!!!
for a ak it shoots right on target @100yrds 2-3 inch groups and thats with iron sights. Love the gun but...... the front forgrip is like no other ak, its about 4in longer and from what ive seen i cant find any other forgrips to fit this rifle, so if anyone knows of any or a way that it can be modified to use other ak forgrips i'd be very thankful for the info. thanks

Samson K rail forend is your only choice if you don't want to swap out all of the gas block and front sights and things.

Before you look at them, they're not cheap and you'll still have to mod the forend and remove about 3/8" off the front of the top rail to accomodate the front sights.

Just by guessing from the OP's description, here's how it came from IOinc
I.O.INC: STG-2000-C Rifle, 7.62 x 39

The previous version like I have, has a hammer forged chrome lined barrel. I've heard they're Steyr barrels, or at least made on Steyr equipment anyway.

To my knowlege, the newer versions have US made barrels.

The one I have is also very accurate. I've debated installing a dot type sight on mine, but the irons do well enough.

Very nice, i like that look alot better than the one it has, mind if i ask how much of a pain it was to modify and install?

Very easy to mod. The only thing I had to do was cut off the top front rail slot behind the front sight.

If you look at the closeup picture I added, you'll see the rail number R18 engraved on the far right.

The top rail was as long as the side rail to begin with, but you just simply hacksaw or dremel that last rail slot off of the top so you can get the top half of the rail over the gas tube installed, and then hit it with some black paint where I cut it.

I used the slots the factory made and a piece of masking tape to mark it where I cut it as a guide to keep it looking like a factory cut.

Installation wasn't bad. But you also have to cut off the original forend cap that held the front of the old hanguard in place. But since I knew I'd never go back to them, that wasn't a problem for me.

You could probably salvage the forend cap if you wanted, but you'd have to remove the front sight/gas block and the flashider to slide it off the end of the barrel. But as much as I hated the factory forend, it was kind of fun for me to cut it off.

Installation was easy after chopping the top rail. Just follow the instructions that came with it. There's just a few bolts and a mount that goes around the back of the barrel and is pretty straight-forward.
